Cleveland Heights Pee-Wee Tigers Head to Florida to compete for National Championship

  • Name: Nakia M. Thomas
  • School or league: AYS
  • Team: Cleveland Heights Pee-Wee Tigers
  • Award: AYS Midwest Regional Champions

Over this past weekend my son James G. Weaver III and his team traveled to Livonia, MI to compete in the Regional Championship for the Midwest. This team is backed by Jeffrey Rotsky, Head Coach at Cleveland Heights High School. It is with great reward after an undefeated season of 11-0 with only 47 points scored against them the whole season.....they pulled off another victory winning 35-0 gaining the Regional Midwest Championship! This team has been together for 3-years and now will be heading to Florida December 1st-8th to compete for the National Championship.

I am a Cleveland Heights alumni and have done a little research and found out this is the first time a Cleveland Heights team has come this far to compete for a National title. The High School football team fought to get into the playoffs and left a lot of disappointed fans, therefore it would be great to recognize this team and get some community support!

Now that both of my kids are growing up in the Cleveland Heights School District and play for Cleveland Heights based teams in soccer, football and lacrosse, one thing that can't be denied is the support of our community! Its like no other in any of the eastern-suburbs. So I would like to share this information so our community can rally around them for a victory and help us raise the $30k needed for the them to get to the competition.
