Home Repair Resource Center Announces New Senior Repair Program
The information below is courtesy of the Home Repair Resource Center:
Home Repair Resource Center, with the support of the McGregor Foundation and the United Black Fund, has begun a new program for senior citizens (62+) in Cleveland Heights. Wesley Walker, HRRC’s Senior Repair Specialist, will work one-on-one with seniors to address their home maintenance needs. He will provide a 90-minute home inspection to help assess and prioritize repairs, as well as “aging in place” issues to maximize health and safety. He will then assist homeowners in reviewing contractor estimates and inspect the work once repairs are completed.
In addition, HRRC will offer two workshops each month geared to the needs of senior homeowners. A workshop on “How to Contract a Repair” will be presented on June 27th at 11am, and a workshop on “Aging in Place” on June 28th at 1pm. July workshops will include another “How to Contract a Repair” workshop on July 25th at 1pm, and a workshop on “Emergency Preparedness” the following day, July 26th at 11 am. All workshops will be held at the Home Repair Resource Center Teaching Center, 2520 Noble Rd., Cleveland Heights. There is a small fee of $10 to utilize the program, which will entitle a homeowner to attend two class sessions and receive a 90-minute home inspection. (Homeowners are welcome and encouraged to attend additional classes for a fee of $5 per class.)
To register for a class or home inspection, or for further information about the program, contact Wesley Walker at (216) 381-6100, ext. 22, or email email@example.com
