The Wine Spot Opens with an Art Exhibition
By Natalie Staats Reiss
After much anticipation, the new Wine Spot in Cleveland Heights is set to kick off its first event on Friday December 16. As part of their push to make the new store a cultural and social hub in the Cedar Lee neighborhood, owners Adam and Susan Fleischer have partnered with the Cleveland Institute of Art for the evening’s festivities. The “Art Spot” will provide students with the opportunity to showcase and discuss their work in a public venue. Wine and beer will also be available to taste and purchase. Afterward, the works will be displayed on the walls of The Wine Spot when it opens for business.
Moving forward, the Fleischers have plans to incorporate similar partnerships with other local artists, restaurant owners, musicians, and even yoga instructors. “We are passionate about the Heights and northeast Ohio as a unique place to live and visit, and we want to do whatever we can to promote the area and our independent merchants” said Adam Fleischer.
Prior to opening the Wine Spot, the Fleischers traveled extensively across the country researching popular wine and craft beer stores. Their travels led them to design a store that will offer more than a grab and go place for wine and craft beers. The Wine Spot is a community destination that will provide great value, wine and beer education, and fun in a relaxing place to unwind.
In line with their goals, the Fleischers carefully transformed old Seitz Agin space with an eye toward inviting visitors to linger. Flat screen TV’s, a spacious tasting bar, and multiple handcrafted bar top tables provide a comfortable setting for sampling new wines and craft beers with friends and neighbors. In addition, a private room can be reserved for meetings, parties, private tastings, or book clubs.
Friday’s Art Spot opening is from 6-9. Expected Wine Spot hours are Monday through Saturday from 11:00am to 9:00pm. For more information about the Wine Spot, and the date of their grand opening, visit their Facebook page.
