5 Things You Need to Know About Cleveland Heights This Week

City Council and School Board meetings, 9/11 memorial concert in Public Square and more

 

1. Cleveland Heights City Hall, the Community Center and Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools are closed for Labor Day.

2. The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School Board is meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Board of Education building for its first regular meeting of the 2011-2012 school year.

3. The Cleveland Heights City Council Meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall.

4. Cleveland Heights-University Heights students who are a part of the youth chorus are performing with the Cleveland Orchestra at 5 p.m. Sunday in a free 9/11 memorial concert in Public Square.

5. The North Union Farmers Market is hosting the second Cleveland Garlic Festival from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 10 and noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at Shaker Square. Local chefs will prepare garlic-themed foods, and the event will also include live music, a celebrity chef grill-off and other activities. For more information, visit www.clevelandgarlicfestival.org.
