Batman Moviegoers Say Colorado Shooting Tragic, 'Isolated Incident'
Fans still headed to Cleveland theaters to see "The Dark Knight Rises" despite the recent shooting in suburban Colorado.

Andrew Bower called his best friend Friday to make sure he was OK.
His friend lives in Denver, CO., and he wanted to make sure he wasn’t at the theater in Aurora where a gunman opened fire and killed at least 12 people and injured 58 others.
But the tragic event didn’t stop him from seeing The Dark Knight Rises at Capitol Theatre Friday night.
“I think it’s an isolated incident. I think it’s a really sad incident,” Bower said.
Another moviegoer said he’s been waiting to see the movie for more than two years.
“So really there’s not much that was going to stop me from coming down here,” said Jimmy Ryan. “You can’t change what you’re going to do just because of something that happened.”
Cristian Brooks hadn’t heard what happened, but she said she may have reconsidered seeing the movie had she known.
“I’m shocked. That’s horrible. I probably would have not gone to see it if I would have known,” Brooks said.
Cleveland Cinemas released a statement Friday indicating that the movie chain was “taking precautions to help address our patrons' safety concerns.” David Huffman, marketing director, said they could not divulge more details for security reasons.
WKYC reported that the company also would not allow masks in the theater.
But moviegoers didn’t seem worried about their safety.
“To be honest I was really not nervous at all coming down to the theater, even in light of the terrible event,” Ryan said.

So this was an isolated incident. Let me think: Gabby Giffords, Columbine, Peter B Lewis building, Chardon. The list goes on and on.
How about if you apply for a gun license, you have to wait until you are dead to get it.

Well put, Richard. Unfortunately, you will be called every name in the book by the trolls and gun lovers on here. But for anyone to say this is an isolated incident....You have to have your head up your butt. Richard, you forgot about the freak in parma that killed his own family and crocker barrell. What a bad place this world is. Horrible people.

The 2nd amendment must have been pretty important to the writers of the Bill Of Rights, or else it wouldn't be #2.
So your gun license idea is a little overly restrictive, as I read it. But something needs to change. Now.

So your knee jerk solution is to disarm everyone ? Leave us at the mercy of a benevolent, armed police state ? Hitler disarmed the German people, making military rule easy. Japan did not consider attacking mainland U.S. partly because we are a nation of armed individuals that will fight back. Stalin took away the right of private gun ownership, and you see how well that turned out for the Russian people. The incidents of violence will continue because there will always be nut-cases bent on doing harm. What about that is new to you ? But if a nut-case shows up at my house with bad intent, it will turn out very badly for them. I hope I never need my gun. I hope you never need one either. But the world we live in is a deadly place, and doesn't seem to be getting any gentler.

If you're going to take the correction fluid to the Constitution, don't forget to get rid of the First Amendment.

Uh oh. Doesn't work so well now, eh?
Quite frankly, it's too bad there weren't *MORE* guns in that theater. One CCW holder could have possibly saved many people from being shot. Maybe even ended it with minimal injuries or deaths.

There have so many, that I simply could not remember them all. I guess that the definition of isolated is what matters, but these incidents are becoming the norm.

I think the person quoted may have meant "unpredictable" or "random" more than "rare".
