BBC to Broadcast Live Election Night From Melt's Cleveland Heights Restaurant
Melt Bar & Grilled invites Republicans, Democrats and Independents to watch results roll in at the South Taylor and Cedar Road restaurant and bar.
Melt Bar & Grilled in Cleveland Heights invites people to watch the elections at the restaurant Tuesday, as it will feature a very special guest.
The British Broadcasting Company (BBC) is broadcasting live from the South Taylor and Cedar Road restaurant, according to a press release about the event.
The broadcast, a live television feed directly to England and the BBC-TV network, will begin at about 4 p.m. Nov. 6 and continue until about 2 a.m. Nov. 7, or until the election results are final.
And on Monday, Nov. 5, the BBC will host a radio broadcast at the restaurant from 8 p.m. to midnight.
"Melt was chosen to represent Cleveland based on the restaurant’s reputation as a place that draws a cross-section of the city," the press release stated. All people from the political spectrum are welcome.
Melt's policy is always first-come, first-served, and it won't change Nov. 6. If there is a wait, customers can sit in the bar area.
For more information, visit Melt's website or call the Cleveland Heights location at 216-965-0988.

I love Melt - but it is soooooo freakin' small - I have no idea how they will fit very many people inside.

Hi, Patti. Thanks for reading. Are you talking about the Cleveland Heights location? It's actually pretty large! I still think it may be packed tomorrow, but it is definitely not a small restaurant.

Keep us posted on this, Michelle. Inquiring minds want to know! . . I'd like to go, but I'm not a big fan of pushy crowds. I expect that it should be jammed!

Hi, Dick. Thanks for reading and for your comment! When I arrived at 5:50 p.m., it wasn't too bad. By the time I left around 6:30, there was a wait and the bar was filled. Do you follow us on Facebook? I posted updates there earlier: www.facebook.com/clevelandheightspatch. That's the best place to look for info like this! I'd say it's worth a shot. Some people I talked to were camping out there, but others wanted to leave by 9 or 10.

I just hope that no one starts a food fight.
