CHUH First Day of School Moved Back to Sept. 1

Students will start school a few days later so teachers can participate in professional development programs

Students in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District will so that teachers can participate in professional development programs Aug. 29 through Aug. 31. 

The Ohio Department of Education approved the district's request to start a few days later, and the CHUH School Board approved the waiver day application at its regular meeting in June.

"Once we are notified, I will use our automated phone system, ConnectEd, to let parents know. This information will also be posted on our website, and will top our weekly eNewsletters. Building principals and each PTA unit will also include the official start date in their communications," said Angee Shaker, communications director for the district, before it was official. "I’m also mailing a letter to all parents to remind them to sign up for Infinite Campus, our electronic grade book, and the official start date will be included with that letter."
