ClevelandHeights.com is getting a makeover.

City Council approved a resolution to allow Vision Internet to redesign the city’s site, which will launch sometime in September or October, said Mayor Ed Kelley during the regular meeting Monday night.

Vision Internet, based in Santa Monica, CA, specializes in developing government sites, according to its website, and in the past 15 years has created 400 sites for small towns and big cities.

The company was one of four invited to do an on-site presentation out of 15 proposals the city received, according to council documents.

The redesign, which will include three subsites for the police department, Cain Park and the recreation department, onsite training for staff and tech support will not exceed $45,260, according to council documents.

“This is going to take about 12 weeks to take effect … but look forward to this new and exciting, more interactive way to get in touch with us coming in the fall of this year,” Kelley said. “We’re very excited about this. We were one of the first cities to have a website way back when.

“It’s time to get a nice, fresh, more user-friendly site.”

Vision Internet was not available for comment.
