Council To Consider Applying For Funding For Cedar Fairmount

Cleveland Heights City Council members meet tonight, Sept. 4.

Cleveland Heights City Council's regular Monday meeting was moved to 7:30 p.m. tonight, Sept. 4, because of the Labor Day holiday.

Council members will consider authorizing Susanna Niermann O'Neil, acting city manager, to apply for federal funding for streetscape improvements for the Cedar Fairmount Business District. The application is in conjunction with the Cedar Fairmount Special Improvement District and the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA).

The ordinance will be considered on first reading and will include a program agreement.

Council will also discuss, on first reading, declaring the property at 3417 Desota Ave. a nuisance.

The full agenda is included with this article.

I heard that there might be discussion of bussing in CH about a possible change to the rule concerning older siblings being allowed to ride the bus with their younger siblings even though they are more than "2 miles" from school. Does anyone know if this is on the agenda? If not, how do I communicate this issue to the council. Thanks. Diane Roberto

Hi, Diane. This discussion would be at the CH-UH School Board meeting, which is also tonight at 7. I see nothing about busing specifically on the agenda but I do see an item that says "Transportation Services Update." Here's a link where you can find the agenda: http://www.chuh.org/district/board-of-education/meeting-dates-agendas-minutes I'll ask about this and see if I can find more information. The school board members' email addresses are also online here: http://www.chuh.org/district/board-of-education/meet-the-board
