The answer from day five of the series, "Countdown to the Spelling Bee: Can You Spell This Word?"

This is the sixth word featured in the series, Countdown to the Spelling Bee: Can You Spell This Word?

The 21st Annual Reaching Heights Adult Community Spelling Bee is less than a week away.

Each day leading up to the event, which begins at 7 p.m. March 28 in the Heights High auditorium, Cleveland Heights Patch will feature a video of Heights Libraries Director and bee reader Nancy Levin reading one word selected by Reaching Heights. Some words are from past bees, and others will be read at the 2012 event. And of course, Levin will use each in a sentence.

Play the video above for today's word and try to spell it correctly below!

The first person to correctly spell the word in the comments section below will receive five free raffle tickets for a chance to win one of many prizes at the spelling bee, which are listed below:

To give it shot, make sure you're logged in or have signed up as a Patch user (look for the links in the top right hand corner of the homepage). Please provide your first and last name, as required by our terms of use. Then, post your comment below. The next day, we'll post the correct spelling of the word and the winner. We'll be sure to give Reaching Heights the winners' names.

Congrats to Marcia Hudgel, who spelled the word from day five, camphor, correctly! Click the second video above to hear Levin read the definition.

Admission to the bee is free. Raffle tickets are $1 each and $5 for 6. Teams contribute $500 to the organization to participate, and proceeds help pay for academic and music support programs for the public schools in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District.

The organization has pulled in more than $262,000 from this event for the past 20 years. To make a donation, click here.

Fifteen people recommended this article on Facebook — thank you! But no spellers? Say it ain't so! There's no harm in trying to spell Sunday's word. I don't want to post the next one until we've got a winner from Sunday.
