Countdown to the Spelling Bee: Winner From Day 3
Kathryn Lad spelled a word from day three of the series corrrectly
This is the answer from day three of the words featured in the series, Countdown to the Spelling Bee: Can You Spell This Word?
The 21st Annual Reaching Heights Adult Community Spelling Bee is less than a week away.
More than 20 teams comprised of three adults each from law firms, schools, churches, colleges and cultural organizations like the Cleveland Orchestra will prove spelling bees (and fun costumes) aren't just for kids and will attempt to be the last spellers standing on stage March 28.
But this year, Reaching Heights has a special challenge for readers who may or may not be involved in the official bee. And we've got a winner from day three of the series.
Congratulations to Kathryn Lad (who happens to be executive director of the Home Repair Resource Center.) She spelled "fenestration" correctly! Click the video above to hear Heights Libraries Director and bee reader Nancy Levin read the definition. Lad will receive five free raffle tickets to the bee for the chance to win several prizes, including a Kindle Touch, a "Bucket of Fun" from Big Fun and more.
Note: Each day leading up to the event, which begins at 7 p.m. March 28 in the Heights High auditorium, Cleveland Heights Patch will feature a video of Levin reading one word selected by Reaching Heights. Some words are from past bees, and others will be read at the 2012 event. And of course, Levin will use each in a sentence. Look out for the next word Saturday!
