Dollar General Employee Sprayed With Mace During Robbery
Police arrested a suspect soon after the crime.
A Dollar General employee was sprayed with mace during a robbery at the Lee Road store at 8:50 p.m. June 9.
A man walked into the Lee Road store and was browsing for a while before he stopped an employee and asked her to open the safe, according to police reports. He gave her a bag and told her to fill it with money. She complied, and after she handed him the bag, he sprayed her with mace.
The man fled and shortly after Cleveland Heights police arrested a suspect at the Sunoco gas station just down the road. Police charged Charles Fitzgerald, 43, of Cleveland, with aggravated robbery.

43 years old, Can you believe it? 43 and spraying someone with mace after the clerk gave him money. I can see a hyped up teenage or 20'somthing getting a ego rush out of spraying mace in someones face but 43? Really? Can we just lock this guy up, he is to damm old to be rehabilitated. How do you rehabilitate and asshole? I am all for giving a young man or woman a second chance, but a 43 year old jerk? No way!
