Girls Report Man Took Photos of Them
A University Heights man was arrested and charged after at least four young girls reported that he acted inappropriately toward them while they were walking to school
The Cleveland Heights Police Department supplied the following information. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
A man was arrested after police say he hugged and took photographs of at least four young girls in Cleveland Heights and University Heights last week.
The 34-year-old University Heights man was arrested on Nov. 29 in University Heights and charged with four counts of criminal child enticement and two counts of menacing.
Two girls aged 10 and 11 told police that a man stopped them as they were walking to school near Silsby and South Taylor Road just before 8 a.m. He asked them if he could take pictures of them because they were cute, police said. He took four or five photos, and then asked if he could hug the girls and they allowed it. Then he asked to exchange phone numbers and left.
The girls told someone at their school about the incident and it was reported to police.
Later that day, University Heights Police arrested a man for a similar incident near Meadowbrook and Canterbury Lane.
The two Cleveland Heights girls, as well as another girl who reported a separate incident on South Taylor Road, identified the man as the one who they met that morning.
