cleveland heights is the new upper east cleveland heights. The cops won't catch that robber, they couldn't catch a cold if it was handed to them. This city has gone to hell in a hand basket. I can't wait to move

Mike, I totally disagree. While I'm certainly getting sick of the amount ( and types ) of crime we're experiencing in CH as well, I believe the police are doing the best job I've ever seen in my 20+ years here. It seems like 90%+ of all police blotter stories are followed up by arrests. Most of them quite quickly.

I, too, respect the CHPD. I have been here since 1981, and I generally love this place. But I am getting frustrated with the amount and types of crime. I would vote to raise a "special" tax that would ONLY go to hiring more Cops and putting them EVERYWHERE! I think this would get our city back the reputation it had in recent years. "Don't do that in CH. The Cops are everywhere and they will catch you." I hope some police officers read this. I want MORE of you!

Why don't we just assign an officer to each and every citizen. You will never have enough officers to stop the crime. They are doing the best that they can in extremely difficult times. They simply cannot be everywhere. Maybe we should pass a law that says if you plan to commit a crime, you are to call the police thirty minutes before.

I noticed that they had the cameras up and working on Lee, did that not catch any images?

Laura - you're right, there are cameras in many places around Cleveland Heights, including this area. At the time this article was written, police were still investigating and could not release many details - such as whether they caught an image of the suspect.

A friend of mine was in the bank during the robbery. She said the man was wearing a long wig and hand concealing bandaids on his face that would make it hard to identify him.
