Here are this week's most bizarre police calls, reports and charges. All information was provided by police reports from departments in Patch communities. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

I can go faster — A man from Windham left no doubt about his need for speed this month after Twinsburg Police arrested him.

Police stopped 49-year-old Joseph Emrick around 3 a.m. on Nov. 4 after clocking his vehicle at 115 miles per hour on Interstate 480. He was weaving across the highway and still accelerating.

According to the police report, Emrick told officers that he "regularly travels I-480 at speeds of 160 to 190 miles per hour." He added that he prefers to speed around 4 a.m. when few cars are on the roads.

He also assured police that an "ultimate speed" modification could give his car even more power.

Pizza frustrations — Mentor Police learned Friday that a trashed hotel room was the result of a frustrated man who could not get any pizza.

Daniel DiFranco of Willoughby is accused of causing more than $5,000 worth of damage to a room at America's Best Value Hotel. Mentor Police Lt. Ken Zbiegien said two or three inches of standing water was in the room, along with a disassembled bed and holes in the wall.

Police initially reported to the hotel because the water was seeping out of the room. DiFranco, 37, told police he messed up the room because he could not get a pizza delivered there. He was arrested and charged with a felony count of vandalism.

Caught turfing — A 45-year-old Munroe Falls man had no choice but to ask Stow Police for his truck after he left it on an animal hospital's lawn.

The man drove his Ford F-350 onto the lawn of the Stow-Kent Animal Hospital and turfed for a little while before the vehicle got stuck. An employee called police, but the man got out and left the truck before officers arrived.

When he went to the station, police cited him for criminal damaging, criminal trespassing, and reckless operation on private property.

No pretending — An unknown man scammed a Cuyahoga Falls woman on Nov. 8 and didn't even try pretending to do the work he was paid for.

The man walked up to a woman’s Tudor Street home and offered to rake her leaves. She accepted the offer and gave him $40. According to the police report, the man immediately left.

Police said the woman does not wish to press charges.
