Mayfield Road Work Expected to Begin in August 2013
The Cleveland Heights city manager is applying for state money to help pay for the project.
Cleveland Heights City Councilwoman Bonita Caplan said that Mayfield Road construction will begin in August 2013 at Wednesday night's regular council meeting at City Hall.
Council members approved a resolution that authorizes Susanna Niermann O'Neil, acting city manager, to apply for state funding for the road work.
The Mayfield Road Rehabilitation Project is expected to be finished in September 2014, Caplan said.
"It's a very long project, and we certainly need it," she said.
The project is expected to be split into three phases and will include all portions of the street in the Cleveland Heights city limits — just after Little Italy to Warrensville Center Road.
The exact cost of the resurfacing and repairs or how much the state will provide was not listed on council documents.
Look for more updates from the council meeting soon.

I am by no means an expert on road repair, but I certainly hope that it does not go with no apparent end in sight like the Taylor Road project.
