PHOTOS: First Little Free Library Ready to Go and Full of Books

Over the next few months, the library will install two more "Little Free Libraries," a program that allows people to share books on the honor system, no circulation required. The rules are simple — if you take a book, donate one to share, or come back and return it, or both.

The books are stored in a miniature house structures, created by Silsby Stained Glass and Woodworking. The Cleveland Heights business constructed the approximately 3' by 3' boxes free of charge and used mostly recycled materials.
Former children's librarian Anne Butera offered her tree lawn for the first location of the book sharing program. The Little Free Library is located on the corner of Sylvania and Elmwood, near the branch of the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library.
