POLL: Are Cleveland Heights Democrats Less Likely to Give to Charity Than Republicans?

A study by the Chronicle of Philanthropy draws connections between how a community voted in the 2008 presidential election and their charitable generosity. Do you agree?

A national publication that reports on charitable giving has found similarities between red and blue states and the likelihood they would give to charity.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy compared giving patterns in 2008 as reported by Giving USA and how communities voted in that year's election.

The results indicated that people in states that voted Republican (red states) were more likely to give to charity than Democratic-leaning states (blue). But other factors play a role in how states rank in charitable giving, according to the Chronicle. They include: how religious a state is, state laws on tax credits for charitable giving and volunteerism.

How did Cleveland Heights compare with the national trend? First, you need to know that the majority of Cleveland Heights residents voted for Barack Obama in the '08 election. But you probably already knew that.

Then, check out the searchable database to see your neighbors' giving patterns.

So do you agree with the conclusions? Vote in the poll and share your thoughts in the comments

Is this question for REAL??? THIS is the important question of our times right now during the most critical election in our history??? Oh gee, let's see ... are the RICH able to give to charity compared to the POOR??? Do Southern Baptists tithe more in the South than in the North? Do the red states REALLY consider themselves "Christian" when they don't act "Christ-like" with their bias and hatred? Is someone REALLY "pro-life" when they only value life until the moment a baby draws its first breath and then they're on their own? Does "pro-life include waging wars and killing, capital punishment, etc.???? Let's see, are Bill and Melinda Gates' Foundation and charity more important than Mitt Romney giving most of his contributions to HIS Mormon church?

I think some real important questions need to asked and answered. Come out of hiding and be honest with the people that you want to rule over. Produce the tax returns and let's see where the money goes and if we can really claim our horse as an exemption on our taxes if we're rich?? Amongst other things.
