VIDEO: Water Pipe Bursts, Closes Roxboro Elementary Thursday, Friday, Possibly Monday

Roxboro Elementary School is closed Thursday and Friday because of a major water problem at the school, said Angee Shaker, communications director for the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District.

Shaker said they hope to reopen Monday.

"They're going to work all weekend long to get it up and running by Monday," Shaker said, explaining the damage is extensive. "Ceiling tiles have come down, the carpet is soaked and there are at least six classrooms that are damaged heavily."

Roxboro, built in 1919, has wood floors, Shaker said, so they're assessing whether the floor will need to be replaced. Technology systems were also damaged.

I think that the Communications Director needs a lesson in communications. What is wrong with they are assessing whether the floor will need TO BE replaced.. It is correct, by the way.

That was my bad — it wasn't a quote from Angee Shaker. Thanks for catching that!
