Suspect Charged With Shooting Forest Hill Dog
Cleveland Heights Police arrested a man Wednesday and charged him with animal cruelty.
Cleveland Heights Police have arrested a man they say chained a dog to a tree in Forest Hill Park and shot at him four times.
Raymone Clements, of East Cleveland, was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 19 and is currently being held in Cleveland Heights Municipal Jail.
Police say he walked the dog to the park, tied him to a tree and shot at him four times, hitting him at least twice, on Nov. 25. Then, police say, he left the dog.
A local dog walker spotted the dog the next day.
The dog is alive, but needs surgery. PAWS has taken in the animal, renamed Forrest, and is treating him.
Clements has been charged with one count of cruelty to animals and one count of discharging a firearm within city limits. If convicted on both counts, he faces seven and a half months in jail.
