Teen Charged With Stealing $20,000 in Jewelry in Burglaries

17-year-old Cleveland Heights male charged for multiple burglaries

Cleveland Heights Police arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with several burglaries in the city over the past several weeks.

Detectives say the teen stole $20,000 in jewelry from a home on the 2200 block of Coventry Road on March 19 and sold some of it to a pawn shop, where police recovered it. 

During a warrant search of the teen's bedroom, police found evidence from other crimes reported in the area, including a theft from mail on the 2100 block of Lennox Road, a burglary on the 2200 block of Tudor, a theft from a car on the 2200 block of Bellfield and an incident where a woman reported that two males shot a BB gun at her on Grandview Avenue.

They also found marijuana and prescription drugs, they said.

The teen has been charged in juvenile court.
