Teen Found Guilty of Murder in November Shooting of Cleveland Heights Boy

A jury has found 19-year-old Dominique King guilty on two counts of murder in the of Cleveland Heights teen Artwon Oliver near the corner of Superior and Lee roads.

King, of Cleveland, was also found guilty on other charges including felonious assault and aggravated riot, according to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court records filed today. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 2.

King also pleaded for trying to grab a police officer's gun after the in June 2011.

, Antonio Kirk, 18, of Euclid, Jamal Cammack, 18, of Cleveland and Thomas White, 20, of Cleveland, pleaded guilty to other charges and will be sentenced in July. Kirk and Cammack pleaded guilty to aggravated riot and White pleaded guilty to attempted tampering with evidence. Kirk, who appeared in court June 13, will be sentenced July 6 and Cammack and White, who appeared in court June 18, will be sentenced July 9.

King was found guilty June 22, according to court documents filed today. All suspects originally .

Cleveland Heights Police Chief Jeffrey Robertson said in an interview in November that before the shooting on Nov. 26, Artwon and a group of about six left a party and headed to the on Superior and Lee for snacks.

As they were leaving the gas station, Robertson said one, possibly two cars pulled up to the store. A group of four men got out, and there was a fight. The received numerous calls of a "large disturbance" in the area around 11:45 p.m, and the callers said that they heard at least one to two gunshots. When police arrived, they saw Artwon laying in the road with a gunshot wound in his chest, just south of Superior on Lee Road.

Artwon was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center by a Cleveland Heights rescue squad and later died from his injuries, according to an earlier statement from police.

Officers tried to administer CPR, but he was unresponsive.
