The City of Cleveland Heights celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by showcasing writing and artwork from students in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District.

Elementary school, middle school and high school students read their essays and poems and shared their poster projects about how they live his dream today during the Cleveland Heights Celebration of The Life & Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 18 in the Cleveland Heights Community Center.

The Heights High Barbershoppers and Heights Choir also performed. Watch the video above to see highlights from the evening.

In honoring National African American History Month.The first Black Assisant Secretary of Labor was George L.P.Weaver,on July 8,1962 .He was appointed by Pres. John F. Kennedy. He is my husband George L.P.Jenkins Uncle and Godfather.Google uncle George, he made quite a few accomplishments.Have a great day !
