Visions for Vacancies: Petland of the Heights
What would you like to see move into the former pet store on Lee Road?
Many new businesses have opened in the Cedar Lee Business District in the past few months — SweetieFry, New Heights Grill and The Wine Spot, just to name a few.
But a few storefronts remain vacant, including the former Petland of the Heights building at 2255 Lee Road.

I know the Petland space isn't big enough, but I'd love for our area to build an "upscale" bowling alley. (Food from Lee Road eateries. Minimal arcade. Family friendly.)

I love the idea of a bowling alley. I used to enjoy going bowling with the kids at the University Heights bowling alley. Definitely family friendly fun!

A second hand store - the demographic is right, the size is right, the need is there in both directions, we miss Nearly New on Lee Road.

I second this - especially a nice one with an emphasis on kids stuff. The closest used kids clothes store is all the way out in Mentor!

Some People might not like this...but the restaurants all do well. We need another upscale place. I'd love Lee to be like West 25th or tremont with a mix of cool upscale and casual dining. A destination for dining and drinking.

W 25th is interesting — Sam McNulty has opened these giant restaurants/bars/breweries with similar concepts and yet they don't compete - they just bring more and more people. Maybe he'll open one in his old neighborhood ...

There's a great, very popular, small bowling alley in Minneapolis called Bryant Lake Bowl. 6 lanes, a small bar and a stage on the side for local bands, stand up comedy and theater. http://bryantlakebowl.com/ Very hipster, very neighborhood-y, very successful.
It'd be fun to see some sort of 'activity' space on Cedar/Lee.
