So, over 11 years, the developer gets $4 million in guaranteed subsidies (as long as he builds the building), and CH gets a promise of $2.3 million. Until the next downward revision, anyways.
Sound like a crappy deal to me.

The CH council does stupid crap like this all the time.
Filling in Dennison pool. Tough luck you kids. You thought life sucked before? Well, at least you had a pool. Now, you don't even have that.
"Retrofit"-ing a "Green" parking lot at city hall for $250,000 or so.
"Emergency" legislation to build a salt storage building for $250,000 or so.
No method to the madness. Just platitudes and sound bites. And wasting our tax $.

One of the main problems in this city has been the decline of the SunPress. there is absolutely zero investigating reporting anymore. Take for example the Heights schools beat writer. One wonders whether this person is able to to do anything except regurgitate the highly paid pr persons puff pieces announcing meaningless award after award blurbs when the majority of the citizens know deep down there is something terribly wrong with the schools. And now this Lee/Meadowbrook debacle. Do you think the paper will report anything other than it being an exciting new development?

You have touched a nerve with that one. I have lobbied the editor and the writers at the Sun Papers, and have shared everything I have with them. Repeatedly. The Heights Observer, too. Hear those crickets?
