 &rsquo\;t fit neatly inside the cookie cutter mold of a genre.  Lead sin
 ger and guitarist\, Justin Pierre has called the band &ldquo\;Scrabble  
 rock&rdquo\; because of its inclusion of intense vocabulary in its lyric
 s. The  five-piece is rounded out by Joshua Cain (lead guitar/backing vo
 cals)\,  Jesse Johnson (keyboardist/moog synthesist)\, Matthew Taylor  (
 bassist/backing vocalist)\, and Tony Thaxton (drummer/backing vocalist).
 \nMotion City Soundtrack quickly realized that playing in Minnesota  was
 n&rsquo\;t going to garner them the impact they wanted to make on the mu
 sic  scene\, so they toured constantly\, spreading their music to as man
 y ears  as would listen. The hard work has paid off\; the band has sold 
 more than  half a million albums in the US alone\, peaking at the #2 spo
 t on the  Independent Albums chart with their second album\, Commit to M
 emory. With four studio albums under their belts\, Motion City Soundtrac
 k is gearing up for their release of their fifth album\, Go\, on June 12
 \, 2012.
