 ove for record-shopping in  Manchester&rsquo\;s Northern Quarter\, Darre
 n Williams tipped his hat to BT  Express&rsquo\; instrumental b-side\, &
 ldquo\;Cowboy Dancer&rdquo\; and assumed the moniker of  Star Slinger fo
 r his electronic project. By June 2010\, Williams had  pieced together h
 is first LP\, &ldquo\;Volume 1&rdquo\;. Some tracks were reportedly  mad
 e in the comfort of his own bed in the early hours of the morning\,  whi
 le others were made not long after waking. Williams believes that  routi
 ne and weekend culture aren&rsquo\;t his forte\, and creating music at a
 ny  given moment is how he approaches the writing process.\nMeanwhile th
 at summer\, Williams began collaborating with ambient  producer Teams (K
 noxville\, TN). Together they worked on an EP\, sending  stems via Sound
 cloud and were approached shortly thereafter by the  popular Brooklyn-ba
 sed label Mexican Summer to release a 12&rdquo\; as Teams  vs. Star Slin
 ger. The self-titled EP was released in early 2011 to much  acclaim and 
 kick-started the long queue of artists looking to make use  of his remix
 ing and production talents.\nBefore that\, Small Black had championed hi
 s remix of their song  &ldquo\;Photojournalist&rdquo\;\, while the blogo
 sphere championed his unofficial remix  of Deerhunter&rsquo\;s &ldquo\;H
 elicopter&rdquo\; and has since been approached for official  remix work
  from some of his longtime favorite bands\, including Air  France\, Toro
  Y Moi\, Gold Panda\, Broken Social Scene\, The Morning  Benders\, The G
 o! Team\, Ed Sheeran\, Rizzle Kicks\, Foster The People\, Alex  Winston 
 and Childish Gambino.\nThese remixes and other production work kept him 
 busy in the studio  throughout 2011. Outside of the studio he flourished
  by playing his huge  hip hop and dance-oriented sets to festivals acros
 s Europe\, such as The  Big Chill\, Benicassim\, and Glastonbury\, as we
 ll as touring with Washed  Out\, Memory Tapes\, the Go! Team\, Caribou\,
  and Battles.\nMost recently Star Slinger produced the new Air France si
 ngle\, which  went big with Hype Machine\, Pitchfork\, Stereogum and Fac
 t\, adding  another notch in his belt as an accomplished producer.\nSett
 ing the stage on fire first will be The Hood Internet\, a  Chicago-based
  duo comprising Aaron Brink (aka ABX) and Steve Reidell  (aka STV SLV\, 
 pronounced &ldquo\;Steve Sleeve&rdquo\;) that specializes in mash-ups  b
 etween hip hop and indie rock music. Start working on your head nod\,  b
