The Dodos enlisted indie rock's must have guy, Phil Ek (Built to Spill,Fleet Foxes, The Shins) to get behind the boards to highlight hopped Dodos’ manic, percussive style, but the sound is still centered around two key elements: the excited percussion of Logan Kroeber and the finger-picking of frontman Meric Long. There is a wayward horn blast here or there, but not enough to discount the enticing riffs and rolls.
