Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Encore Campus student art work will be a part of an overall exhibit at the Cleveland Heights-University Public Library, 2345 Lee Rd., Cleveland Heights, beginning May 13. The free show will run through June 9.

The exhibit will showcase two dimensional, watercolor, pastel and acrylic pieces created this spring by 15 senior adult education students from each of the Tri-C Encore Campus program locations.

An opening reception will take place on Sunday, May 13, from 2 – 4 p.m. in the library’s exhibition gallery. Light refreshments will be served.

Kate Uhlir, an art teacher for over a decade, has been teaching art in the Tri-C Encore Campus program for five years. “What struck me immediately while teaching ‘older’ artists is their desire to ‘do something beautiful’ and their earnest attention to instruction,” Uhlir said. “Teaching them is such a rewarding experience.”

Providing lifelong learning opportunities for over 35 years, the Cuyahoga Community College Encore Campus program is a leading destination in Northeast Ohio for senior adult personal enrichment programs. Every year, more than 900 persons age 55 and over enjoy a variety of courses through on- and off-campus experiences.
