Cleveland Heights Second-Most-Walkable City in Ohio

Walk Score rated Cleveland Heights, Lakewood and Norwood as the top three most-walkable cities in the state

Cleveland Heights came in second place, tying with Norwood, as the most-walkable city in Ohio. 

Our west side neighbor Lakewood came in first, edging out Cleveland Heights by just four points. 

The company that conducted the study, Walk Score, launched in 2007 and promotes walkable communities in the U.S. It ranked 114 of the largest cities in Ohio.

Cleveland Heights received 64 points, which according to its chart, means the city is "Somewhat Walkable — some amenities within walking distance." That's the description that No. 1 Lakewood, which received 68 points, got as well. 

Ohio received a state average "walk score" of 43, which means the state is "Car-Dependent — a few amenities within walking distance." Solon, Broadview Heights and Green were ranked as the least-walkable cities.

A "Walker's Paradise," or a score of 90-100 means "daily errands do not require a car," and "Very Walkable" means "most errands can be accomplished on foot."
