Cain Park Celebrates 75th Anniversary With Mixture Of Homegrown & National Talent

See everyone from Yes to Weird Al and Michael Stanley to Michael McDonald this summer at Cain Park

Cain Park is celebrating its 75th season with an eclectic lineup that ranges from Yes to Weird Al Yankovic, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings to Amy Grant and Michael Stanley to Michael McDonald, as well as several local talents.

To honor its history, the park will open the exhibit “Cain Park. Dreaming Under The Stars For 75 Years” an hour before all events from June 13 through Aug. 18 in the Audrey and Harvey Feinberg Art Gallery.

The exhibit includes historical memorabilia from the park's history.

The performance season kicks off June 13 with Smokey Joe's Cafe, a musical revue that includes 39 songs from classing songwriting duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The revue will run through June 30.

On June 15, the park will host “No Place Like Home – Inspired by Forrest.” The concert is named after the dog who was shot in Forest Hill Park last year and it benefits PAWS Ohio.

The bill includes Breakfast Club, Brent Kirby, Winslow and Robin Stone -- the Solon woman who took Forrest in after he was shot.

Other highlights on the summer schedule include:

  • June 26: The Happy Together Tour 2013 with The Turtles, Three Dog Night’s Chuck Negron and more
  • June 30: Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
  • July 12-14: Cain Park Arts Festival
  • July 19: Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson
  • July 31: Weird All Yankovic
  • August 7: Yes
  • August 8: Kris Kristofferson
  • August 10: Michael Stanley and the Resonators
  • August 14: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
  • August 18: Michael McDonald
