Cedar Fairmount Festival Starts at Noon Sunday

The street fair will offer games and entertainment, provide information about animal adoptions, showcase arts and crafts and more

The 10th Annual Discover Cedar Fairmount Summer Festival & Arts and Crafts Show is this weekend, but it features much more than its name emphasizes. 

A full schedule is included with this article, but the business district will provide games and entertainment for kids like pony rides, puppet shows and face painting, a venue for residents to meet Cleveland Heights police and fire officials and several performances from musicians and dancers throughout the afternoon.

The festival will showcase jewelry, wood carvings, ceramics, photography and more. Vendors will also sell food like hotdogs, paninis, pizza, gyros and crepes.

The fair is from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and will have events and booths in several locations in the district, including , ,  and the . Restaurants in the area are also offering specials during the event. 

Myxx, a , is hosting a dance exhibition from Cheek 2 Cheek Ballroom and Dance Studio, and is sponsoring the panel discussion "Writers of Cleveland History" led by authors Judith Cetina, Sharon Gregor and Marian Morton.

The event will close with dancing to the Symtar Band at The Alcazar from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Cedar Road and Fairmount Boulevard will be open during the entire festival. Surrey Road from the city parking garage entrance to Cedar Road will be closed off, but people can access the lot from Lennox Road or from Euclid Heights Boulevard as that portion of Surrey will be open. Parking will be available at businesses in the district and at nearby city lots.
