Coventry Fair Shut Down, But Cedar-Fairmount Art Show Will Go On

While the city canceled the Coventry Arts Fair after rumors that crowds would try to disrupt the event, the Cedar-Fairmount Arts & Crafts Show plans to go on as scheduled.

The Cedar-Fairmount Arts & Crafts Show will go on as scheduled after Cleveland heights officials canceled the Coventry Art Fair for safety reasons.

Mayor Ed Kelley told the Sun News last week that the art fair at Cedar-Fairmount will go on, but that the Cleveland Heights Police Department is monitoring the situation.

The Coventry Art Fair was scheduled for July 21, but police canceled the event because they grew concerned from social media rumblings that people were going to come and try to disrupt the event.

"We have a responsibility to never compromise the health, welfare and safety of our community," Kelley said after the event was canceled.

The Cedar-Fairmount event is scheduled for Aug. 11 from noon until 5 p.m. The event is billed as family friendly and admission is free.
