A Winter Solstice Celebration Concert

The Almeda Trio, ensemble-in-residence at Cleveland's The Music Settlement, performs limited-seating concerts at 6:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. tonight in Shafran Planetarium, featuring premieres of special works commissioned for this event by Dave Brubeck and Cleveland composer Paul Ferguson, as well as other musical selections. Museum astronomer Jason Davis provides a look at the science behind the winter solstice celebration, and accompanies the musicians using the museum's new Leonard Krieger Visual Effects System.

Guests also are welcome to view the "Extreme Mammals" exhibit and museum galleries.

Contact Development Assistant Annie Howell at 216-231-4600, ext. 3286 for reservations.
