Art Study Group Brings Ancient Egypt to Life

Ancient Egypt maintains it hold over us even centuries after its demise, and you can explore this endlessly fascinating culture in the company of other art lovers. The spring season brings a new installment of the Art Study Group, a collaboration of the Heights Library on Lee Road and the Ingalls Library at the Cleveland Museum of Art.

The first program, presented by David Smart from the Department of Ancient Art, focuses on the history and development of the museum’s Egyptian Collection, including the part played by Howard Carter, the discoverer of King Tut’s tomb.  A PowerPoint presentation using vivid images of the museum’s treasures will serve as our introduction. The program takes place on Sunday, April 3, at 2:30 pm, at the Lee Road branch, and repeats on Tuesday, April 12 at 10:30 am – you can register for either date at 216-932-3600 x 2, online at www.heightslibrary.org or in person at any of the Heights Library branches.
