Gallery Show Opens at St. Paul's Friday

"Fine Lines" features local artists and runs until March 4

The “Fine Lines” gallery show at opens tonight with an artists' reception an open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The South Wing Gallery of the church, 2747 Fairmount Blvd., will feature the show until March 4, and it is free and open to the public.

Featured artists and works include Howard Collier's charcoal drawings, Mike Gold's calligraphy, Gary Schmidt's sculptural pottery and Kate Snow's relief prints. Most artists in the show live in the Cleveland-area, said Terrell Pim, who is on the South Wing Gallery committee.

He provided more information about the artists and their work in the press release about the show:

Howard Collier studied at Brooklyn College in New York and has shown widely in the Cleveland Area where he works and teaches at local colleges. Mike Gold has worked in calligraphy as a fine artist and teacher in the U.S. and Canada and is a designer with American Greetings Corp. He has exhibited extensively in New Mexico and Northeast Ohio. Gary Schmidt approaches creating pottery from the viewpoint of a painter, photographer and constructionist in art. His works are unique sculptural forms in line, shapes and color. Kate Snow studied drawing and photography in California prior to coming to Cleveland. She is focused on print making in black and white motifs that are small in scale and utilizes a process that is not dissimilar those of to fine photography.

People can browse the gallery at St. Paul’s Church from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The show will also be open during evening events. Call 216-932-5815 for more information.
