Why Go: The recently restored Tudor Arms building will host a concert in its stunning ballroom sponsored by . Jung Oh and Daniel Pereira from Cleveland Institute of Music along with Peter Otto, Miho Hashizume and Isabel Trautwein from the Cleveland Orchestra will perform as part of Heights Arts' intimate series of chamber music concerts.

SWEET PLANTAIN STRING QUARTET

Why Go: They’ve been to Russia, Europe and all over North America, and this weekend members of Sweet Plantain will grace Nighttown with their four-piece string ensemble. The group fuses Western traditional string music with hip-hop, jazz and Latin rhythms, a diversity representative of their own disparate backgrounds including the South Bronx, New Jersey and Venezuela.

ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

Where/When:  / Midnight Saturday

Why Go: Cedar Lee features the cult classic the first Saturday of each month. This weekend ticketholders can also hear a live performance by Simply His Servants, the local Rocky Horror performance group.

Price: $6 if in costume, otherwise it’s $9 regular admission

LOCAL SINGER DR. E PERFORMS

Where/When: Ceviche Bar/ 7 p.m. Sunday

Why Go: Cleveland’s own jazz and R&B singer, Dr. E, will play hits from her new CD, Elevated, during a performance at the Eastside’s hottest spot for live music. Her songs about life, love and loss will keep audiences slow dancing all night long. The artist’s name isn’t just for show. She has an actual doctorate in English composition and applied linguistics from Michigan State University and currently holds a post as professor of literacy at The Ohio State University.

CLEVELAND’S FINEST FEST & BBQ

Where/When: Peabody’s/ 5:30 p.m. Friday

Why Go: Hard rock and heavy metal fans get ready. Peabody’s is having its annual music fest this weekend featuring Affiance, Skies of December, Cholera, Ruled by Reason, Sentients, Envoi, Elevations, the Gateway Complex, Clarity Calls Forth, Along Came a Spider, Ruin, A New Reign, Bright Lights & Busy Signals and Ascending Oblivion.
