Heights Grad, Author Talks 'To Kill The Irishman'

Author Rick Porello will speak at the library Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m.

The Heights High graduate behind the book To Kill the Irishman-The War That Crippled the Mafia will tell his story at the Beachwood Library Thursday.

Rick Porello, who is Lyndhurst police chief by day and author by night, will talk about his book and how it became a film called Kill The Irishman.

The book and movie tell the story of the Cleveland mob scene and the rise of infamous Irish-mobster Danny Greene.

Porello published the book in 1998 and it was transformed to the silver screen in 2011 starring Ray Stevenson, Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer. Porello was credited as executive producer in the movie.

He graduated from Cleveland Heights High in 1980.
