The Great Geauga County Fair: Cheap Date

The 190-year-old fair kicked off Thursday and runs until Labor Day.

Fairs are a highlight of summer, and on one of the final weekends of the season, there's one Northeast Ohioans can turn to celebrate the warm weather before the leaves start to turn.

The Great Geauga County Fair kicked off Thursday and runs through Labor Day, Sept. 3. Entertainment includes a demolition derby, one of the fair's signature events, a truck pull, a freestyle motorcross event and a rooster crowing contest.

And of course there are rides and a variety of food vendors. There's also some history. The fair, at 190-years-old, is considered the oldest in Ohio.

Where: Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14373 North Cheshire Street, Burton
