Cleveland Hard Rock Café Battle of the Bands Winner Eclectic Mayhem, Hosts CD Release Party

Eclectic Mayhem local Cleveland band is hosting a CD release party!

It was less than a year ago that local band Eclectic Mayhem was crowned the winner of Cleveland Hard Rock Café’s Battle of the Bands. Making it to the second round, the band was chosen by Bruce Springsteen’s lead guitarist Stevie Van Zandt as one of the top 40 bands nationwide. Since then, the band has recorded a full-length album this past January at Sleepwalk Recording with engineer/musician Eric Day (The Broderick, You’re a Liar).

The group, which was originally formed in 2010, consists of all Cleveland born and raised members including: Pat Conley (Vocals, Drums), Dan Cooley (Guitar), Nate Dreher (Bass) and Jonathan Khouri (Piano, Keyboard). Since it’s formation, Eclectic Mayhem has garnered support from powerful live performances that display inventive musicianship, novel songwriting, and rock vocals that put forth raw energy and catchy hooks.

On first glance, that band is not what you would describe a “typical” band. Lead vocalist Pat Conley also doubles as the band’s drummer. “It’s definitely something different that people aren’t use to seeing,” said Conley referring to his role in the band. “I think it’s something that makes us stand out in addition to our sound, you don’t see a drummer who is also singing lead vocals, it’s definitely memorable.”

The band describes themselves as melodic grunge and progressive. “While our music is true rock and roll, we write all our own material with an ear for innovation,” said Dan Cooley, lead guitarist. Crowd favorite “Let You Down,” is a perfect example of what sets the band apart from others, featuring a distinctive style and sound that will stick in your head long after listening.

To celebrate the release of their self-titled album, the band will be hosting a CD release party on May 24th, at the Beachland Tavern in Cleveland. The show will also feature guests 123wow and Jazmine Trio. Doors open at 8:30pm and tickets are $6.00.
