— If you’re a fanatic for fresh, your appetite is sure to be ignited at Fire Food & Drink, located in the southeast quadrant of Shaker Square.
From the cut flowers displayed all around to the luscious locavore items on the menu, Fire is a feast for the senses. Chef Ian Thompson and his team make it all happen in a casual yet quietly elegant setting.
In keeping with the fresh approach, the menu changes seasonally to reflect the best offerings from local farms.
Among the distinctive appetizers is crispy chicken livers with sautéed spinach, house-made bacon and dried cherry compote. Or you can indulge in some roasted banana peppers with house-made sausage and tomato ragout.
Entrees feature a southern seafood stew with sustainable seafood, smoked pepper broth, black-eyed peas, rainbow chard and garlic toast. If you’re hungry for a burger, try the Miller Farm grass-fed cheeseburger with cheddar, tomato relish, mustard aioli and garlic fries.
Fire also offers a brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, where the selections range from scrambled eggs to Fire’s specific take on Eggs Benedict.
You can celebrate the freshness of the summer season at Fire, and enjoy the weather with patio dining right out front.
