Contemporary cuisine and casual dining go together just fine at Taste on Lee Road

— Although we clearly missed out on visiting the bistros in Paris when Ernest Hemingway and his pals were hanging out there, we can capture a little bit of that vibe at Taste.

Dominated by a brick wall from the original construction of the building, this sleek and vibrant dining establishment has a range of plates that offer interesting flavor experiences.

The menu features a number of dishes prepared with French, South American and Asian accents. And they feature tasty appetizers you won’t find elsewhere, such as breaded artichoke vegetable fondue.

As for entrées, a pork chop is served with sweet potato hash and a pineapple teriyaki glaze. Then there is the roast chicken asiago and pine nut crust with ham, corn and bacon risotto.

Taste also provides a vegan plate du jour, tempting salads, a daily burger special, and sweet-tooth desserts such as chocolate mousse with hazelnut ice cream.

Their prix-fixe menu entitles you to an appetizer, entrée and dessert plus two wines by-the-glass for a very reasonable price. The wine list encompasses more than 100 labels with almost 20 available by the glass.

This Taste might be just the treat you’re seeking. Minus Hemingway, of course.
