Andrew Samtoy hasn't announced which Coventry business he will "cash mob" at 6:30 tonight, but he posted a few instructions on a Facebook page for the event:
1. Meet at the corner of Coventry and Euclid Heights in front of the . Look for the guy wearing a hat of a monster wearing a hat. (This will make sense, I promise.)
2. We recommend that you park in the parking structure next to .
3. Post-mob at . See you tomorrow!
Samtoy started cash mobs in Cleveland in November 2011 to help support local businesses that contribute to their communities, according to his blog.
It's simple — get a bunch of people together to shop at a local store to boost the merchant's sales and the neighborhood's economy.
"This Cash Mob is special. Last year, by one of the first flash mobs in Cleveland — the destructive kind, the kind that we detest," Samtoy wrote. "However, they're excited to have us visit as our first east side Cash Mob!"
There are rules and guidelines for the cash mob, such as people should spend $20, but no more (unless they want to), the business must have products for men and women and it must be locally-owned.
