Sign up for City or School Board meetings

Time to get more involved. To gather information we need an army to infiltrate enemy territory and reconoiter. I've tried to attend all these, but it is way too much for one person. So please sign up!

We need people out there to take my place and take notes on what is said, what they spend, what they decide.
I have to warn you these can be very boring.  But some of these meetings demonstrate the unresponsiveness and arrogance of city hall towards its residents.
You have every right to sit in on these and cannot be sent out for any decisions or discussions.  Only an executive session that will address a specific type of issue can allow the board to kick you out, momentarily, and only after they tell you what issue they will discuss that is on the agenda for an executive session.  The topic must be about:
- appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation, of a public official or employee, or to investigate charges or complaints against them
- buy/sell property
- negotiations with public employees
- immediately pending legislation
- Fed and State restricted issues: adoption, family court, juvenile detention, anything related to protecting a kid's rights
- specific security measures
The minutes afterward should support the reason called for an executive session.
Here are the September meetings calendar.

CHUH School Board:

I found this on the board's web site and have to question its legality:
Addressing the Board Input from citizens is encouraged and welcomed during allotted public participation time at regular Board Meetings. Citizens may speak at the beginning of each regular meeting and limit remarks to five minutes. Speakers will be asked to state their name and identify the topic they wish to address. Generally, no public participation at Special Meetings or Work Sessions is allowed, although the Board and the President may decide otherwise at the time of the meeting.
For the first "Work Session" meeting of September on the 17th, let's arrange to have a throng show up at the door.  So everyone who can, please sign up for that.  Those who have kids in the school system will carry more weight than those, like me, do not have kids there.

Supposed list of board meetings and agendas:
http://www.chuh.org/district/board-of-education/meeting-dates-agendas-minutes

The board administrative offices do not have the meeting dates and times for the following meetings:
  • Lay Facilities
  • Reaching Heights
  • Recreation Board
  • Urban Community Liason
Any one who know where or how to find that info, let me know, or post it.
Thanks.
