2. In recognition of Black History Month, 35 fourth- and fifth-graders from Canterbury Elementary school chose quotes from several famous black Americans and then recited these quotes for a video while "in character."

Some of those quoted include:

  • Ben Carson, a famous neurosurgeon at John Hopkins Hospital
  • Faith Ringgold, an artist best known for her story quilts
  • comedian Bill Cosby
  • jazz artists Charlie Parker and Ella Fitzgerald
  • basketball player and businessman Michael Jordan.

3. A South Euclid man was arrested for firing a gun on Beechwood Avenue.

Police say Devin O’Neal, 18, was involved in an argument March 10 at around 4 p.m. with teen boys and fired the gun, though there was no report of anyone being struck.

O’Neal fled home after he shot the gun but police later arrested him.

4. Because Forrest went through a traumatic event when he was shot twice and left tied to a tree in Cleveland Heights, his caregivers don't want to take him off of his leash in the yard without being in a fenced-in area.

Robin Stone set up an online fundraiser at GoFundMe.com. In nine days, $300 was raised.
