Five Things You Need to Know About Cleveland Heights This Week

Food tasting, nature and family fun

1.  Celebrate the first Little Italy Art Walk of 2011 with NEO Food Tours as their unique neighborhood excursion kicks things off early on June 1.  This premier walking restaurant tour will meet at 6:30 pm at La Dolce Vita Bistro. Terry Tarantino, owner of La Dolce Vita, will guide the Little Italy food tour through the historic neighborhood as guests learn about Little Italy’s unique characteristics from one of its most passionate advocates. Additional stops include Murray Hill Market, Michaelangelo’s and Trattoria on the Hill.

2.  On June 2  will host this annual fundraising event. It features food from 22 different restaurants in the Cleveland Heights area. There will also be live entertainment, a silent and an online auction. All the proceeds go to help fund so they can continue to provide a safe place for the youth of the area. It also helps to fund the wide variety of programming that is offered such as arts, education, recreation, music and so on. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $60.00 or online at www.heightsyouthclub.org for $50.00.


3. Up Late With Steve Guy is a brand new late-night TV talk show for the Northeast Ohio area. Guests will be familiar names and faces that have anything and everything to do with what's going on in the area. Plus a showcasing of local talent of music and comedy. The show will be filmed in front of a live audience at the Big Dog Theater in Coventry (Cleveland Hts). June 2 from 7 to 10 p.m.

4.  Drop by the gym, 16500 Van Aken Blvd, on June 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. for a class especially facilitated for children with special needs. Bring your child, age 3-5 years old, in for some exercise and activity.

5.  Joseph Hannibal from The Cleveland Museum of Natural History will lead the group on a stroll through the cemetery from 10 a.m. to noon on June 4. The group will learn about and study rocks and minerals found in the quarry and ravine areas. Cost is $7, call ahead for reservations:  216-421-2687.
