The Forrest Fund: Help the Rescue Dog's Owner Build a Fence

Robin Stone started an online fund to help get a fence for the pooch who was once shot and left for dead in Cleveland Heights.

Because Forrest went through a traumatic event when he was shot twice and left tied to a tree in Cleveland Heights, his caregivers don't want to take him off of his leash in the yard without being in a fenced-in area.

Robin Stone set up an online fundraiser at GoFundMe.com. In nine days, $300 was raised.

Donations from $10 to $1,000 can be made by clicking here

But, those who contribute $25 to the fund can carve their name into the fence once it is built.

The 1-acre split-rail fence lined with heavy childen wire is necessary, for Forrest's safety and for the safety of others, according to the note left on the GoFundMe.com page

Here's a note left by "Forrest:"

"My family cannot let me off of a leash and they feel I deserve to have space to run and the space to be understood as they help me transition into a family life. They want to build me a fence, but they don't have the funds to do it because I eat so much, haha."
