Freedom Alliance Scholarship Funds Now Available for Children of America's Injured Service Members

Freedom Alliance has announced the extension of the Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund's application deadline for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund honors the bravery and dedication exhibited by Americans in our Armed Forces who have sacrificed life or limb defending our country by providing educational scholarships to their children.

The educational and charitable organization sponsors numerous programmatic activities aimed at supporting and honoring U. S. military service members and their families.

“We are excited to continue providing educational assistance to the sons and daughters of our heroes,” said Freedom Alliance Executive Director, Calvin Coolidge. “We are honored to show appreciation to those who have sacrificed for our nation by providing assistance to their children. We have more than 100 additional scholarships available for students.”

In 2011, Freedom Alliance provided more than $1 million in college scholarships to 240 students across the country. The organization has given out over $5 million in education assistance.

Students are eligible if they are the dependent son or daughter of a U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or Guardsman who has been killed or permanently disabled (100% VA disability rating) as a result of an operational mission or training accident, or who is currently classified as a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA). To be eligible, a student must be a high school senior or graduate, or registered as a full time undergraduate and under the age of 26.

Qualifying students can apply online at FAScholarship.com.
