Urban Deer Management

Most of us are seeing White-tailed Deer in our neighborhoods and yards more frequently than ever before. Geoff Westerfield, Assistant Wildlife Management Supervisor for the Ohio Division of Wildlife, specializes in working with private property owners with human-wildlife interaction issues. He will present a program at the Nature Center on the complexity of urban deer management, including the changing deer population; understanding deer management concepts; city government’s responsibility vs. resident’s responsibility; and effective solutions. This presentation is followed by a question and answer period. $8 for members; $10 for non-members. Please preregister at www.shakerlakes.org or call (216) 321-5935, ext. 235.
