$55 MILLION Beyond State Requirements !!

They gotta be kidding, right?

The proposed CH-UH school district's Master Facilities Plan (MFP) is $235 MILLION.

$55 MILLION of that is not eligible for Ohio state funding participation. It is elective.

“Our community has come together and worked very hard for more than three years to create a facilities plan that will mean improved educational spaces, lower costs, increased community access, and the protection of our community assets,” said Board president Ron Register.  “This plan accomplished all these goals at the lowest possible cost. It is an opportunity that this community can’t afford to pass up.”

The Lakewood, Ohio school district, with a couple hundred more students than CH-UH, came up with an MFP of $162.9 MILLION. Their entire MFP is eligible for Ohio state funding participation.

Oh, and they managed to keep all seven of their elementary schools open for that price.

So, no, it's not "at the lowest possible cost" when it's $72 MILLION higher than Lakewood's, and $55 MILLION of that is elective. Heck, our high school *alone* is $100 MILLION!!!

Something ain't right. And they're keeping important information from you.

Like that elective $55 MILLION above the state guidelines.

Which includes that $7.5 MILLION Olympic sized swimming pool.

I guess they think your $ grow on trees.

I don't think so. Mine doesn't.

VOTE NO ON THE BOND ISSUE IN 2013.

And then let's get it right in 2014!!

(Thanks to Diane Hallum for the heads up on Lakewood. That's how teamwork makes us all more effective!)
